When we began 12 years ago, it was simply because there was a need not being met. Founder Brad Mullins knew his wife’s high end kitchen knives needed to be sharpened. But the hassle of packaging and shipping the knives, then the slow turnaround time for sharpening offered by the knife company, was not going to cut it. The local hardware store was not cost effective and was damaging to the edges. As a mechanical engineer and avid outdoorsmen, the value of optimizing one’s tools is a passion that Brad has carried with him and perfected all his life, so he channeled that into the art and craft of honing edges. Gradually, Brad built for himself an impressive set up and approach to sharpening that is truly second to none. Brad’s “desire to be an expert” personality helped him to quickly transition from providing an excellent sharpening service for his wife, Shannon, to sharpening the edges of all his hobby woodworking tools, his daily pocket knives, his hunting blades, mower blades and gardening tools. Brad and Shannon even lived in Montana for a few years where chopping wood became a part of daily life while they kept their 120+ year old home warm through the long winters and an always sharp axe edge was necessary.

From those days to now, word has traveled and the business grew from serving family and friends, to neighbors, co workers, and beyond. Again and again, our customers are surprised and even awed, by the end result. Not only are the edges functioning to their highest potential, but they look beautiful. Damage is repaired, blades are cleaned and polished, and handles are treated with a custom finish to preserve their life.
